Mertyse Louise (Parrish) Boyd

Mertyse Louise Boyd (Parish) was born in Marion, Alabama on March 16, 1950 to Susie Mae Parish and Lucious L. Parish. She completed this life on December 6, 2017 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mertyse loved to take in the word and prayer, so she visited many churches over the years. Her last home of worship was The Kingdom Hall where she found peace and tried to share it with everyone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who touched many lives and will forever be missed. She was known as Na Na to all the kids who grew up around her.She met and eventually married Johnnie Boyd who she shared a life with for over 50 years. Johnnie is left to cherish their memories. She also leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Jonathan (Cynthia) Boyd of Fort Wayne, IN and Gregory (Velma) Boyd of Vincennes; three daughters and a step daughter, Leslie Boyd, Kristine (Felix) Wilson, Dion Boyd and Dionne Piatt, all of Fort Wayne; six brothers, David ( Martha), Emerson and Julius (Toni), Ned all of Fort Wayne, IN, Gregory  of Jacksonville, NC and Randolph (Debbie)  of Baltimore, MD; four sisters, Susie Harris of Fort Wayne, IN, Mary Roberts and Pauline ( Kevin) Wright of Jacksonville, NC, and Sherry Wesley of Cleveland, OH; Special sisters-in-law, Jackie Townes and Toni Parrish, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
