Winifred Joyce (Derrick) Wright

Winifred Joyce Wright was born December 24, 1949, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Fredrick and Frances Derrick. She came to Fort Wayne, Indiana at a young age. Later on in life she became a member of Destiny Dome Embassy @ Cathedral of Praise International under the covering of Apostle Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell Underwood.

Winifred loved spending time with her family, her children, and her grandchildren. Winifred worked over 30 years for Lincoln Life, which she retired from. She had four beautiful children who she adored: Eugene, Constance, Andrew, and Lenessa Scruggs. She married the love of her life, Carl Wright. Early Tuesday morning, January 25, 2022, Winifred transitioned her life over to be with the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Carl Wright of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son, Eugene (Sharon) Scruggs of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughters, Constance Scruggs of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Lenessa Scruggs of North Manchester, Indiana, brothers, Ronald Derrick of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Leonard Derrick of Michigan, sisters, Jacqueline Patricia and Juanita Derrick of Fort Wayne, Indiana, twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, Fredrick and Frances Derrick, her son, Andrew (Calondra) Scruggs, grandchildren, Antonio Scruggs and Qua’Marielle, brother, Herbert Derrick, sister, Frankye Derrick and nephew William Derrick, and niece, LaToya Washington-Derrick.
