Willie Mae “Classie B” Chapman-Thomas was born October 15, 1940 in Uniontown, Alabama to Susie and William Chapman. She departed this life on May 13, 2024.
Willie Mae accepted Christ at a very young age at Star of Bethel Church in Uniontown, Alabama. Willie Mae completed her course at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Willie Mae loved family gatherings with her children, grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart. After returning in 2002 from Canterbury Nursing Home, her past-time was watching Westerns, Wheel of Fortune, Texas Rangers, and action movies followed by word search puzzles.
She always reminded her children to give some of our time to the Lord. Assuring them it’s not hard, just do it.
Willie Mae leaves to cherish her memory, her 7 children, Lois (John) Johnson, Floyd Chapman, Leroy Thomas, Shirley, Orlando, Kevin (Ellen), and Byron Thomas, 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, along with a host of other family members, loved ones, and friends, sister, Ann Jackson, brothers, Charlie, John (Cleo) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ernest (Roxanne) Chapman of Warren, Indiana, Tommy Williams and Jerry (Shirley) Chapman of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, William and Susie Chapman, one son, Leonard Chapman, Sisters, Annie Mae Shears, and Susie Chapman, five brothers, Elbert, David, Arthur Sr., William Jr., and Charles Sr.
