Willie Jr. Holley was born to the late Willie Hubert Cook and the late Margaret Ann Holley on June 12,
1961 in Moundville, Alabama. He passed away on May 5, 2018 in his home. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church under the late
C.E. Walker. He graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1980. Willie spent over 20 years with his partner, the late Loretta Williamson, and with her he had two daughters, Shalanda D. Holley and Keyhora R. Holley. He also helped take care of Loretta’s two children, Latarsha N. Williamson-Miles and Aaron J. Williamson. Latarsha recalls the time that her first child Jalisha was sick with a high fever and she had no idea what to do. When Jalisha began seizuring, Willie began
assisting her and calming her down until the ambulance arrived. She credits Willie with saving Jalisha’s life that night. He leaves behind three children, Willie L. Riley, Shalanda D. Holley, and Keyhora R. Holley; three grandchildren, Kerston White, Martin K. Mims, and Harmony R. Mims; four brothers, Jessie & Debra Holley, Leon & Tonya Holley, William Holley all of Fort Wayne, and Barry Brand of Ypsilanti, Michigan; and four sisters, Mary Brown, Sherria Holley, Irene Holley all of Fort Wayne, and Bridget Brand of Ypsilanti, Michigan. He will also be remembered by a stepmother, Martha Brand of Ypsilanti, Michigan,an uncle, two aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends. Willie was preceded in death by his parents Willie H. Cook and Margaret Ann Holley. As well as, two brothers, Danny Ray Holley and Arthur Lee Holley.
