Willie Brooks

We lost Willie as a direct result of complications from his illness. An illness he battled with courage and quiet dignity for the last several years. Willie was born November 10, 1963 , in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Lillie B. Williams (Brooks) and the late Wodie Brooks Sr. He gave his life to Christ at a early age and was attending Spiritual Israel Church and It's Army at the time of his death. Willie a self-taught student of philosophy he enjoyed learning various cultures from nations throughout the world and could debate their wisdom and knowledge with ease. He also loved to play and watch sports, being a avid athlete himself, including playing college basketball. He worked out several times weekly before his illness no longer allowed him to do so. He loved his church and giving to all of it's ministries. He made a special effort each year to purchase book bags and school supplies for all the children who attended Spiritual Israel Church. Watching the joy on their faces brought him tremendous joy as well. He loved his family and his life long friends, he went out of his way to be of service to all of them. Especially, those who suffered adversity, because he believed in spreading joy when it was needed most. He was preceded in death by his son Noah Wood and his father Wodie Brooks Sr. Willie is survived by his mother Lillie B. Williams (Brooks) of Ft. Wayne, IN; his siblings Wodie Jr. (Hattie) Brooks of Newnan, GA; Vivian (Dave) Walton of Ft. Wayne, IN; Charles Stroud of Ft. Wayne, IN; Jerry (Suzanne) Brooks of Ft. Wayne, IN; Roven (Willie) Odom of Ft. Wayne, IN; Mary Ann Brooks of Ft. Wayne, IN; Shakira Brooks of Ft. Wayne, IN; True Friend as Brother Darrell (Annette) Williams of Ft. Wayne, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
