William Ernest “Bill” Gause, 80, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026.
Bill was born on July 30, 1945, in Warner Robins, Georgia, to Ernest Ervan Gause and Gladys (Telle) Gause, who preceded him in death.
Raised in Hartford City, Indiana, Bill later made Palm Beach, Florida, and Indianapolis, Indiana, his home. He was a proud graduate of Ball State University and enjoyed a successful career in real estate spanning more than 50 years. Throughout his career, Bill was known for his dedication, professionalism, and the relationships he built with clients and colleagues.
Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved getting together with friends for dinner and drinks, traveling with his longtime friend, Bob Ashbaugh, and was an avid dog lover. Above all, Bill treasured his family. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow into adulthood, and one of his greatest blessings came during the final week of his life when he was able to meet his great-granddaughter, Reagan Elliott.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Rachael Elliott and her husband, Tom Elliott; his grandchildren, Thomas Elliott and his wife, Erin Elliott, and their daughter Reagan Elliott; Jordan Rodriguez and her husband, Gil Rodriguez and their children Melina and Daniel Rodriguez; and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Bill will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of family and friends, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he impacted over a lifetime well lived.
