Welton Darnell Jones was called home on August 7, 2026, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply and will carry his laughter with them always.

Welton had a gift for making people feel seen. He was always checking on the people around him, making sure everyone was okay before he worried about himself. He was the biggest jokester in any room, with a way of turning a hard day into a good one just by being himself. Anyone who spent time with him knew his humor and his heart went hand in hand.

He took real pride in his cars, especially old schools and lowriders, and loved spending hours detailing them until they shined. When he wasn’t outside working on a car, he was probably on the PlayStation, deep into a game of GTA or Madden. And on any given fall Saturday, you could find him decked out in Alabama gear, cheering just as hard from his living room as if he were in the stadium.

Welton leaves behind his mother, Chandra Jones; his father, Welton Darnell Brown; his brother, Quinton Jones and his significant other, Chelsea Roush; his sister, LeAsia Jones and her significant other, Jamarius James; his step-sister, Cynrinthia James; his nieces, Loyalti James, Noeveah James and Alani James, along with a wide circle of family and friends who were lucky to call him theirs.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Shirley Mae Jones, whom he adored and loved dearly, and his grandparents Samuel (Queen) Jones, and Susie Dobine.

Welton’s spirit — kind, funny, loyal, and always looking out for someone else — will live on in every laugh shared in his memory and every Alabama game watched in his honor.
