On April 7, 2023 a rose, a beautiful spirit and one we love dearly was plucked from the master’s garden of beautiful flowers.
Walter Mae Swopshire is at peace with God and rejoicing in her heavenly home and gone to gain her great reward.
Walter Mae Radford Swopshire was born on January 22, 1954, in Marion, Alabama to Walter and Lillie Mae Radford. She confessed Christ at an early age at Providence Baptist Church in Marion, Alabama. She later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana and then joined Kingdom Door Christian Worship Center. She was joined in holy matrimony to Curtis Swopshire. Walter Mae worked at Riverbend Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Walter and Lillie Mae Radford, and her son; Michael Lawrence.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband; Curtis Swopshire, her sons; Clarence (Katie) Radford, Lee (Chaminda) Radford, Larry Lawrence, and daughter-in-law; Adrienne Lawrence, her sisters; Margarite Williams of Selma, Alabama, and Martha (Lorenzo) Kinnie, one loving brother; Willie Radford of Fort Wayne, Indiana, along with a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, five nieces, two nephews, and her best friend Mary Dominguez.
Walter Mae Swopshire “Maze” was a loving mother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved her music, cooking, and watching movies. She was a free-spirited woman (for the ones that know her, know her).
