Virginia "Gin" Wilson

Virginia Wilson, affectionally known as "Gin," was blessed to be born to her loving parents, Lee and Pinkie Wilson, on April 18, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee. Virginia completed her earthly journey and was called to rest on Sunday, February 7, 2021

Virginia graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1971.

She was employed with General Electric and later retired from there after many years of dedicated service. Virginia was also employed by several nonprofit agencies to include Council on Aging, Fort Wayne Housing Authority and Fort Wayne Community Schools where she passionately served assisting others in becoming their personal best.  Virginia was best known for being a community resource. If you needed information, a ride, or a hand- up she was the person to call. Virginia valued people and knew no strangers, finding common ground with everyone. In seconds of knowing her, she could identify a mutual friend, family member, co- worker etc. Virginia embraced the most complex person, and she appreciated the ease of others. Virginia was loved and adored by many and her life will be forever cherished.

Virginia was preceded in death by her father the Rev. Lee Wilson, Granddaughter, Miss Kennedy Madison Bright; sisters Rosemary Jones and Elaine Wilson; brother William "Billy "Wilson. 

Left to honor her legacy is her mother, Pinkie Wilson; her children, a son Larry (Cynthia Gore) Bright, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a daughter Clarice (Larry) Sewell, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Grandchildren, Alexandria Bellous, Asiah Bright, Cameron and Landon Bright, Akiyah Sewell and Larry Sewell Jr.; Siblings, Euell Wilson, Vernice (Elton) Street and Jernice (Larry) Watson, all of Fort Wayne Indiana.

Virginia also leaves to cherish her memory a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember the love and joy she brought to them.

Viewing will be held from 5pm – 6pm on Friday, February 19, 2021, at Abundant Life Church 3301 E Coliseum Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN 46805    

The service will begin immediately following the viewing. 

Face masks and social distancing is respectfully required.

Virginia Wilson, 67,  passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
