Vincent Fitzgerald Johnson Sr. was born on January 20, 1961 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Reatha Mae Johnson Kelley. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. When he was young, his family moved from Tennessee to Chicago, Illinois, and then later to Gary, Indiana, where he attended Horace Mann High School. He was very active as a youth. He was a long-time and dedicated member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, under the leadership of both Rev. Sam Shade Jr., and the current pastor, Rev. Raymond Dix Jr.
