God allowed this world to be blessed with the presence of Vera Shed Rankin-Gamble on November 6, 1926. On February 8, 2023, God called her home to be with Him because her purpose on this earth had been served. Vera was a loving mother, a fantastic grandmother, and caring to all her family & friends. Everyone’s path she crossed, she became some form of a mother figure, which is why everyone called her Mama. She opened her home to so many people, no matter their situation, and if she could help anyone in any way, she did. If you knew Vera, I am sure you had a chance to hear one of her memorable sayings, which could make you laugh or walk away thinking what she meant by that, but once you had a moment to think about what she said you understood what her meaning was behind it. Vera left this world at peace with many things in her life. She did not worry that God would not accept her when her moment came to leave this world. The relationship she and God had was one of understanding. She knew who God was and welcomed Him into her life.
The life of Vera will forever be cherished in the lives of her children Sharon (Rose) Gamble, Cecil Gamble, and Decarla Gamble, all of Fort Wayne, IN. Along with her grandchildren and many great & great-great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Maude Alilkes & Carl Rankin, husband William Gamble, sister Mary Alice Rankin, two brothers Carl Rankin, Jr. & Cecil Rankin, children Michelle Gamble, Rosaline Richardson, William Gamble, grandchildren Nichole Rankin, LeeRoy Heard, Jr., and Tommy Richardson, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Vera’s presence and love could fill any room. The family asks that everyone hold every loving memory of Vera they have near their heart and remember a part of her is always near whenever you need her.
