Valentine was born in Kingston, Jamaica. His Jamaican family is very large. Valentine came to America to attend college in 1951.
Valentine was a graduate of Indiana Tech with a B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering.
Valentine met and married Willa L. Hill in 1952. This union was blessed with five children: Stanley, Lawrence, Donald, Carl, and Valerie. Val also had a daughter, Jennifer Wynder.
Valentine married Samella Bullock in 1983. He retired from International Harvester. He also owned and operated a television repair business for over 30 years.
Valentine loved to bowl, fish, and to travel, as well as enjoy family gatherings. The family held monthly birthday celebrations for many years. Each year the family always made a major trip to some “new” city.
Valentine leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Lawrence, Donald, and Carl, and one daughter Jennifer Wynder, eleven grandchildren, LaDonna Thomas, Zack Campbell, Candice Harris, Carrington Bare, Julian Campbell, Adonis Carswell, Jakaya Thomas, Joey Thomas, Jashod Thomas, Jaylan Wynder and Della Wynder, nine great-grandchildren, Allani Bare, Saniah Smith, Christyn Smith, Kahmaje Thomas, Kamonet Thomas, Kamiah Thomas Kahmere Thomas, Kobe Kuran, and Kween Thomas, and a host of family and friends.
Valentine was preceded in death by his father, Philbert and mother, Winnie B. Campbell, a son, Stanley B. and a daughter, Valerie S. Thomas, his first wife, Willa L. Hil-Campbell, and his second wife, Samella Bullock Campbell.
