Tyrie Darnell “Rico” Holley was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Friday, September 28, 1984, and he departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2022, at the age of 37 years old. Rico accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. C.E. Walker at Antioch Baptist Church. He attended South Side High School and received his G.E.D. He loved to play football for the Metro Youth Football League, and he played basketball for Weisser Park Youth League.
Tyrie was an outstanding father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved to spoil his kids and he loved all kids and being a mentor to them. He loved his family and friends. Rico loved to crack jokes and laugh. He was the life of the party. It wasn’t a party until Rico came through. He loved having cookouts and being at family gatherings.
Tyrie would help anyone. He would give you the shoes off of his feet if you asked for them. If you knew him; you know what I’m talking about.
Tyrie loved to dress, have nice cars with big boy rims, music, playing cards, shooting dice and looking out for others and just being out and about checking on his peoples. Tyrie loved money. He started making money when he was young by shoveling snow, raking leaves, and cutting grass; so he learned how to manage money at an early age. Math was his favorite subject. That’s one thing he knew about…money.
Tyrie was very well-loved. He was respectful and got along with everybody.
Tyrie was preceded in death by his brother, Tayoung Holley, grandma, Margaret Holley, grandpa, Albert Taylor, grandpa, Daniel Carswell, grandma, Lucille Nelson, grandpa, O’Dell Nelson, and favorite cousin, Adrain Carswell.
Tyrie leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Sherry Holley, family friend, Jesse Ellis, father, Ronald Nelson, sisters, Kim Holley, Naomi (Jamell) Holley-Chapman, brothers, Ronald Holley, Tyron Riley, kids, (his expecting daughter) Tyrieonna Shamari Cobb, Giovanni Tyrie (Amy McCoart-mother) Holley, great-niece, Brayla Holley, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends. And he loved all his peoples!
Love you Daddy Star-Giovanni
