Trona Delynn Upshaw, age 63, was born on January 20, 1963. She departed this life on March 16, 2026, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Trona was a loving daughter, devoted sister, caring aunt, and a cherished friend to many. She lived her life with warmth, humor, and a spirit that brought joy to everyone who knew her.
A faithful and active member of Third Dimension Worship Church, Trona proudly served on the Usher Board, where she greeted others with kindness and a smile. During her professional years, she worked for the Department of Homeland Security as a Behavior Detection Officer at the Indianapolis Airport, a role she carried out with dedication until her health declined.
Trona was well known for her vibrant personality and unique sense of style, especially her beloved collection of hats and sunglasses. She had a deep passion for music and thoroughly enjoyed playing cards, attending and watching sporting events, and participating in weekly gatherings with friends. She especially loved attending Indianapolis Colts home games. In her leisure time, she also enjoyed board games—particularly backgammon—and challenging herself with crossword puzzles.
She will be remembered for her infectious sense of humor, her loyalty as a friend, and the light she brought into the lives of her family and all who knew her.
Trona leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Isaiah Upshaw, Sr, with her siblings: Tondra D. Morgan (Charles), Isaiah Upshaw Jr. (Qwintoria), Tara D. Upshaw, and Ivan C. Upshaw Sr. (Sherry); extended siblings: Eric Powell, Chandra Stokes (Scott), and Andrea Faust. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces: Te'koiya, Tanisha, Vonda, Te'ona, Briana, Destine’, Emya, Ellen, Kameshia, Kayla, and Madison; and nephews: Charles Jr, Dominique, Ivan II, Qwinton, Michael, Justin, Chase, and Bryson. She is further survived by eight great-nieces and sixteen great-nephews, special cousin Denna Walker and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Trona was preceded in death by her mother, Marian J. Upshaw, and father, Charlie Jackson Jr., and her brother Charles W. Jackson.
Trona’s life was a blessing, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.
