Timothy Trice Obituary

Timothy Alan Trice was born January 17, 1952 in Fort Wayne, IN to the union of the late James and Edith Trice.  Timothy, lovingly referred to as ‘Tim,’ was educated in the Fort Wayne, IN school system, graduating from Central High School.  Tim accepted Christ at an early age.

In 1972, Tim was called upon to serve his country as part of the last  US military draft.  He took great pride as a specialist in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged in 1974.  After his discharge, he returned to Fort Wayne, IN and enjoyed various positions throughout his career, including meat inspector for the US Government.

Tim’s life hit a high point in 1979, with the birth of his daughter, Avory.  At this time, he also gained a bonus son, Donyale.  He remained a loving and doting father until returning home to his Lord.

In January 1995, Tim met his life-long soul mate, Diann.  Within 60 seconds of seeing Diann, Tim proudly proclaimed that he was going to “marry that gal.”  Being a man of his word, Tim and Diann married on July 28, 1995 and shortly thereafter moved to Southfield, MI.  To this union, Tim was blessed with another bonus son, Mackey.  Tim and Diann were due to celebrate their 25th anniversary in July of the current year.

Throughout his life, Tim enjoyed many hobbies.  He was an avid fisherman, loved cooking, had exquisite taste in old movies and classics (especially Westerns and the TV show MASH), had a keen ear for good music, and was a lottery extraordinaire.  Tim had an undenied love for cars – If he couldn’t fix a car, it just wasn’t fixable.  His greatest passion was his love for people.  He took pride in mentoring members of the community, by teaching with life stories and funny jokes.  If you listened keenly, his wisdom spoke for itself.  He is known and loved by all with whom he came in contact.

Tim made his transition on January 23, 2020.  He leaves to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy, wife, Diann; daughter, Avory Timoura (James);  two sons, Mackey (Danielle) and Donyale; nine grand children, Timothy, Jaleyn, Rhett, Charles Jr., DeAundra, Destiny, DaNiyah, DaeLynn, and Zaniya; sister, Judith; brothers, Byram (Pecola) and Dennis (Duretha); two great grand children; a special niece, Elissa; and a host of other family and friends.
