Obituary

Susie Mae Chapman was born August 24,1938, in Uniontown, Alabama to Susie and William Chapman. She departed this life at the age of 84 on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, peacefully at home.

Susie accepted Christ at a very young age, at Star of Bethel in Uniontown, AL. She completed her course at Greater Progressive Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, IN.

She was loved by many for her humble spirit and showed love to everyone. She worked at Lutheran Homes for a number of years, until she became disabled.

Through many challenges in her life, she persevered without complaint. She loved her daughters and all her grandchildren, hoping they got to know the Lord.

Leaving to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Joann Davis, Sharon (Keven) Williams, Marilyn Chapman, and Charlene Bowley all of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters Willie Mae Thomas

and Ann Jackson both of Fort Wayne, IN; brothers Charlie Chapman and John (Cleo) Chapman both of Fort Wayne, IN, Ernest (Roxy) Chapman of Warren, IN, Tommy Williams and Jerry (Shirley) Chapman both of Fort Wayne, IN. 17 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, and a

host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Susie and William Chapman; one daughter, Gloria (Conway) Lyles; one sister, Annie Mae Shears; five brothers, Elbert, David, Arthur Sr., William Sr., and Charles Sr.
