Susan Renee Davis

On Sunday, May 17, 2020, at 9:00 p.m., Susan Renee Davis, loving sister and aunt, passed away at age 60 in the presence of her loving sister Angela Davis.

Susan who was affectionately called Renee was born on January 29, 1960 in Fort Wayne, IN to Rev. R.C. and Susie (Smith) Davis. She graduated from Northside High School in Fort Wayne, IN in 1978. She was never married or had children of her own but played an influential role in the successful raising of her nieces, Temicka Moore and Denita Barnes.

She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of her father Rev. R.C. Davis and was presently a member of Promise Land Church under the leadership of Pastor Maurice King. Renee’s everyday life reflected her genuine love for Christ always showing gracefulness in saying thank you for anything anyone did for her.

Renee had a passion for watching cooking network and PBS Create channels inspiring her to create extraordinary foods and art. Her duck dressing, potato salad, and coleslaw were much admired not only by friends and family, but also by all who came into her company. Renee is survived by her sister Angela Davis, nieces, Temicka Moore, Denita (Marcellus) Barnes, Alisha and Jeremiah Davis. Aunts, Oddie Bowley, Kerry Ellis, Nellie Hicks, Lizzie Church, Minnie (Willie) Gates, Johnnie Smith, Floydia Goree, best friends, Elder Judith Trice, Chandra Pinkston, and Anita Waller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. R. C. and Susie Davis, her brothers, Kenneth Darrel and Ronald Christopher Davis, grandparents Susie M. Smith, and Hilda (Momma Doll) Faulker.
