Simon Navell Williams, III, age 54, affectionately known as "The Law Dawg" quietly departed this life on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at his home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on April 4, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois to Simon Williams, Jr. and Martha Jean Williams. He was the fifth of seven children. In 1981, the Williams family relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
From a very young age, he boldly declared his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He eagerly joined True Love Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. With heartfelt devotion, he served as the President of the Young Adult Usher Board leading with compassion and purpose and was as a dedicated member of the choir. He was a proud graduate of North Side High School Class of 1989 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1995 he received a certificate in Culinary Arts from Ivy Tech. He studied Criminal Justice at IPFW.
Simon was a committed team member of the Fort Wayne Protectors traveling around the U.S. to compete in the World Series Games. He won several awards for basketball, volleyball and softball. He was truly proud to be a part of the sports communities where passion, dedication, and the love for the games ignited his soul every single day. In 2025, he acquired his CDL license where he drove for ExecuRide. He was dedicatedly employed at Allen County Juvenile Center (ACJC) in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for over 25 years and his current position was a County Officer/Bailiff.
Simon was an incredible brother, father and friend—someone whose heart shone with authenticity and kindness. His respect for others was unwavering, and his laughter, so contagious, warmed everyone around him. Above all, he was a truly remarkable human being whose presence made the world brighter and better.
Simon was preceded in death by his parents Minister Simon Williams, Jr. and Martha Jean Williams. He is survived by his three children: Shammond, Sydney, Sierra and their mother Cynthia Branch-Williams; one spiritual son David F.; six siblings: Latissha Williams, Lolita Young; Dr. Lalita (Dane) Boykins; Lisa (Eric) Piersimoni of Avilla, IN; Garrett (Bernadette) Williams and Laschita (Aric) Whelan of Grand Rapids, MI; one grandchild: Nova Williams; one godchild: Uriyah Branch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends.
