Shawn Leon Booker was born May 29, 1975, in Fort Wayne, IN. He departed this life on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the age of 50, at the Miami County Correctional Facility. Shawn was from a large family. He was one of seven siblings. He was the baby and a Mama’s boy. He loved his mama, and his mama loved him. No matter where he went or what he did, Polly’s baby could do no wrong. They had a special bond. He would often stop by for a visit and watch one of her favorite TV shows with her. He also enjoyed cooking and worked in the kitchens of several restaurants, including McDonalds, Jersey Mikes, Five Guys, and Don Hall’s Factory, just to name a few. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to rap music, dancing, and spending time with his children when he could. His daughter Makayla is expecting her first child, and he would have been a proud first-time grandfather in October. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Polly Booker of Ft. Wayne, IN; siblings Cleo Booker, Diane Booker, Kenney Booker, Marvin (Meta) Booker and Arthur Lee (Eunita) Booker all of Fort Wayne, IN; children, Mariah, Devante, Makayla and Natalia Booker, all of Fort Wayne; two Aunts, Gracie Booker of Ft. Wayne and Bell Booker of Palm Beach, FL; one Uncle, Lewis Booker of Fort Wayne; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and a very special friend Valerie Kinney. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Lucy Jane Booker, and a brother, Ernest Booker.
