Obituary: Roscoe R. Green

Roscoe Rivers Green, 75 transitioned this earthly life on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 8, 1944 to father, Ellis Green and mother, Mary L. Green (Johnson) in Memphis, TN

Roscoe attended and received an Associate Degree from Indiana Tech and worked as a clerk during election time for Fort Wayne Voters Registration. Friends were plentiful in Roscoe’s life as he never knew a stranger and was always willing to help out one. 

Roscoe followed his parent’s spiritual guidance giving his life fully to the Lord.  In the year 2000, he joined the fellowship of Oakridge Temple where he remained a faithful member until his passing.  Roscoe was never ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was always bringing or inviting someone to church with him.   He was always well dressed, whether he was in casual clothes or a three-piece suit. He loved to sing and never hesitated to render a selection when the opportunity would arise. 

He was also a great encourager to many and loved to rejoice in how good God is.

He leaves to cherish his memory: brothers; Brady (Bobbie) Green of Memphis, Tennessee, Lee (Mary) Green, stepbrother Charles Johnson and sisters, Louise Green, Pamela Green Dukes, Lena Green and step-sister Mary Wilson all of Fort Wayne, IN and a host of nieces, nephews and great friends.  

Roscoe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ellis and Mary Green, step-sisters Shirley Watson and Mary White; step-brothers, Frank Johnson, Hula C Johnson and step-father John Johnson.
