The Lord is too wise to make a mistake. He is too just to do wrong. He came back to claim His very own child, Robert “Hump” Smith; on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 12:51 A.M. at Englewood Health and Rehab God called His servant home.
Robert “Hump” Smith was born March 17, 1951 to the late Lewis and Rebecca Smith, to whom he was the 7th child. Robert left Uniontown, Alabama as a young man moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana where he worked numerous jobs, but; he favored working for Jim Kelly Chevrolet. He eventually moved on to factory work where he retired due to health issues. Robert met the lady of his life, Emma Mae Cole, and they were blessed with three children. Anissa Cole, Robert Cole, and Preonda Cole, God daughter; Shavonia Greene. Robert will be truly missed by his niece and caretaker, Ella Smith-Espinoza. He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother; Clarence (Minnie) Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana, two sisters; Polly Smith of Huntsville, Alabama, Marie (Leo) Walker of Detroit, Michigan, three granddaughters that he loved more than words can describe; Ciera (Tre) Cole, TiAuna Jones, and TiAira Cole, four great-grandchildren; Camiyah, Cayson, Anissa, Antre’ Jr, and one unborn great-grandson.
Robert will join with the loved ones that have gone on before him, his wife; Emma Cole, daughter; Anissa Cole, brothers; Freddie and Eddie Parker, Charlie and Lewis Smith, one sister; Mary Smith-Prince. Robert also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
