Richard Alvin Holder

Richard Alvin Holder, 70, of Gary, IN / Bellwood, IL, passed away
unexpectedly on June 14, 2023.

Richard was born on January 14, 1953, to the marriage of Nathan and
Martha Lowry-Holder in Dyersburg, TN. He was the oldest of 12
siblings.  Richard graduated from Roosevelt High School, Gary, IN in
1971 and went to work at Inland Steel, East Chicago, IN.  He enlisted
in the United States Air Force where he served 3 years and obtained
rank as a Sergeant.  After an honorable discharge, Richard attended Purdue University Northwest and returned to
Inland Steel where he worked as an electrician for 45 years until
retirement.

In 1973, Richard married Pamela Williams in Gary, IN.  To this union 3
daughters were born; Sharitta Holder, Kanesha Holder and Lenita
Holder.

During retirement, Richard was able to enjoy riding his Harley
Davidson, shooting pool, and skating at Glenwood and The Rink.

Richard was predeceased by his grandparents; Guyuella Lawrence and
Alvin Holder, Dan Lowery, Mary Lowery-Grimes parents, Nathan Holder
and Martha Lowery-Jones, younger brothers, Marty and Kenneth Holder,
Aunt Dorothy Middlebrook-King and Uncle Perry Middlebrook Sr, Cousins;
Perry Middlebrook Jr, Victor Middlebrook, niece, Ashley Holder nephew
Jody Riley.

He is survived by his 3 daughters (listed above), Uncles David Lawrence, Robert Lawrence, William Haymon,, Aunt Evelyn Haymon, sisters; Evelyn (George)
Jones, Mary Harris, Carletha (Rafael) Valladades, Barbara (David)
Matthews,  Joyce (Lydell) Standifer, brothers; Samuel (Frankie)
Holder, Garion Holder, Nathan Holder Jr, Anthony Holder, Step-Mother
