Radford Lee "Ralph" Moore

Radford Lee “Ralph” Moore, 82, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020.

Ralph was born in Marion, Alabama, on March 18, 1938, the fifth of Susie and Walter Moore’s six children. After graduating from Lincoln Normal School in 1956, he moved to the Chicago-area for work and eventually settled in Fort Wayne in the mid-1960s.

In 1967, he met his wife Frances, and they were wed in 1969.  They went on to become a family that eventually included five children.

Ralph believed in hard work and retired from Empire Refractory Sales of Fort Wayne after 30 years. He also was sole proprietor of his own janitorial services company for many years.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings. Leaving to mourn his death are his children: Richard “Ricky” Moore and Diane Moore, both of Waukegan, Illinois; Angela Craig Dixon and Tracy Johnson, both of Fort Wayne; and Karen (Joseph) Moore Ward, of Washington, D.C. His long-time companion, Barbara Davis, and her children will also cherish his memory: Crystal Davis, of Atlanta, Georgia; Chantal Davis, of Fort Wayne; Tyrone Davis, Dallas, Texas; Bryson Davis and Demetria Jones, both of Indianapolis, Indiana.  His grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends will also miss his generosity and his infectious laugh.

Once family and friends can safely gather to celebrate Ralph’s life, a memorial will be scheduled.
