Mother Pamela Elaine Hatch was born to the late Matthew Jackson Sr. and Velma Ruby Jackson on August 15, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pamela went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2023. Mother Hatch accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Dr. Jesse White at True Love Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Come As You Are Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Payton, where she remained a faithful member until her homegoing.
Mother Hatch attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and later acquired her daycare licensures.
Mother Hatch was joined in Holy matrimony on November 18, 1961, with Willie James Hatch, who preceded her in death in January 2011. They were blessed to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary with their family, friends, and loved ones in November 2010.
Mother Hatch was employed with the Indiana State Developmental Center (State School) and took an early retirement to care for her ailing husband for over 30 years. Out of her passion for children, she founded “Mama Bear Daycare”, which she successfully operated for over ten years.
Mother Hatch loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She had a beautiful smile that was contagious and a heart of gold. She loved to help others and share the Word of God. One of her favorite Bible verses was Psalms 27. She’ll often quote this bible verse while ministering to family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Stacey Hatch and Domanick (Carmynn) Hatch; daughters, Lisa Hatch and Priscilla Lapsley, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nicole (Kevin) Corey of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Diandra Coffee of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, Matthew Jackson, Jr., and Alfred Jackson both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister Pastor Delilah Ott (South Bend, Indiana); special grandson Tyson Jones; special granddaughters Isha Scroggins and Takia Arrington; 16 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Velma Jackson, her husband, Willie Hatch, son-in-law John Lapsley Jr., and aunt Nancy Skinner.
2 Corinthians 5:8 – “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. In fact, we are confident, and we would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” – Amen
