Morris Williams Obituary

In loving memory of Morris Lamont Williams, who passed away at the age of 52. Morris was a kind and loving soul who touched many lives of those around him with his warmth and compassion for playing the drums, singing, dancing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, working out, and taking care to looking very GQ at every event he attended.

Although Morris faced many trials and tribulations throughout his life, he never lost sight of his faith and belief in the power of redemption. It was during this period that he found solace and strength in his relationship with God. His faith sustained him through the darkest of times. One of his favorite songs was, “Something about the name Jesus” by Rance Allen.

Morris leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Mary Ann Williams, father Jerry (Quella) Smith, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son, Devian Williams of Houston, Texas, sisters, Carla Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Alison Smith of Kentucky, LaTasha Smith of Georgia, god-sister, Quita Cannon, god-brothers, James Cannon, Marcus Cannon, special nieces and nephew, Christina Williams, Vashon Stallings, and Quiton Winters, fiance’, Sylvia Fields, step-grandmother, Lula Walker, uncle, Morris Leon Govan, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Morris was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ramona Govan, grandfather, Bishop Samuel L. Walker, grandfather, Lacy Curry.

Those of us who knew Morris will remember him for his kindness, his unwavering faith, and his ability to forgive. May Morris’ soul rest in peace knowing that he is now in the loving embrace of God, free from the burdens of this world. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, by those whose lives he touched with his kindness and grace.
