Mr. Mervin S. Thomas, son of the late William H. Thomas and the late Betty L. Fincher, was born on December 14, 1965 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended Wayne High School where he was a proud member of the Drama Club and Swing Choir, graduating in 1984. He was employed at Phil's Market, Lincoln Food Service and the Fort Wayne Foundry. Mervin had a great personality and as a result, was truly loved by many. He was also a super provider for his mother, children, grandchildren, and many others. He was affectionately known by the nickname, "Swerve." He quickly departed this life at home on Thursday, August, 31, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty L. Fincher, his step-father, William L. Fincher, his biological father, William H. Thomas, three brothers, Diron D. Fincher, William Eric Thomas, and William Lindsey, and one grandchild, Camryn. His beautiful life and joyful smile will forever be cherished in the lives of his children, Krista, Angie, and Timothy, his ten grandchildren, step-mother, Ella Thomas, long time friend and mother of his children, Cyndi Gessner, his long time friends, Greg and Wendy Fields, Mr. Woody, his siblings, Pastor James K. Thomas, Sr., Tracy Thomas, Anthony "Boo" Thomas, Tyree Thomas, Carla Scott, Angela Jones, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many other relatives and friends.
