Mary M. Johnson-Wilson

Mary Wilson peacefully transitioned on February 1, 2021 at Summit Rehabilitation Center. With everlasting gratitude for her life, and a loyalty to her family and friends, with a smile. Her laugh, and compassion gave her willingness to do anything for anybody.

Mary M. Wilson was the daughter of John and Cornelia Johnson. She was born on July 25, 1925 in Florence, Alabama. She went home to be with her parents and the rest that have passed on. She left Florence, Alabama to move to Chicago, Illinois, where she stayed. She met the love of her life, Oscar L. Wilson. They were married July 28, 1987 until his passing. She later met the late Dennis G. Lindsey and they were a couple until his passing in 2008. Mary returned to Fort Wayne, Indiana in the early 1980’s. Mary’s cherished memory is left to her only living sibling, Edward Charles Johnson.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cornelia Johnson, her brothers; Mack (Mattie) Johnson, John T. Johnson, Hula C. (Della) Johnson, and Frank Johnson, her sisters; Mary (Willie) Johnson-White, Ruth (Samuel) Johnson -Robinson, Shirley (Clevester) Johnson Gorman Watson, extended family members, stepmother; Mary F. Johnson and stepbrother; Roscoe Green.

Mary is survived by her extended family members; Brady (Bobbie) Green, Lee (Mary) Green, Louise Green, and Pam Green Dukes, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, great-great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great-great nieces and nephews.
