Life began on October 9, 1945 in Safford, Alabama. She was born to Albert and Rosie Brown. She confessed Christ at a young age at St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend G. Washington where she served faithfully until moving away. She was a product of Keith High School in Safford, Alabama. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Rosie Brown, Mamie Brown (sister), and Jimmie Brown (brother).
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Arthur (Chevelle) Brown (Indianapolis), son Hollis Dumas (Ft. Wayne), and daughter Patricia Brown (Ft. Wayne). Mary leaves brother Albert (Leona) Brown Jr. (Michigan), brother Willie (Sharon) Brown (Ft. Wayne), brother Arthur Charles (Rose) Brown (Alabama), and sister-in-law Corinne Brown (Michigan). She leaves her grandchildren, Shira Brown (Georgia), Rena Brown (Georgia), Jassan Brown (Indianapolis), Jordan Brown (Houston), Justin Brown (Indianapolis), DeMarcus Dumas(Houston), Demetrick (Alexandrea) Dumas (Ft. Wayne), Brittany Brown (Ft. Wayne), Antonio (Jamee) Brown (Indianapolis), and Porsha Brown (Ft. Wayne). Mary leaves twelve nieces and nephews, twenty-three great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins.
