Martin Sheffield Obituary

Martin G. Sheffield (Fish) was born on February 27, 1949 to the late Essix Sheffield and Minnie Graves Sheffield in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.  He was baptized at First Baptist Church at an early age.  He graduated from E.H. Keys High School in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.  He joined the United States Airforce with an honorable discharge. Martin married Lizzie M. Brown on May 31st of 1969.  To this the union birthed two children, DeShannon M. Sheffield and Martin L Sheffield Sr. (Mark).  He was a member of the Kings and Queens Motorcycle Club, he was known by his club name as “Tricky Dick” for many years. For over 50 years, he drove semi-trucks.  Having his own trucking company known as Sheffield’s Trucking.  He was also a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Martin’s legacy of laughter, peace, unwavering love for his wife and children will live on.  Martin was a giver, he gave his last to help any and every one.  Martin was the life of any party he was invited to, He enjoyed dancing, shooting pool, and gambling was his thing. "The Lucky number man" Martin leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful wife, Lizzie M. Sheffield, 56 years strong.  His daughter, DeShannon M. Sheffield (John Williams).  His grandchildren, Jamarcus Q. Sheffield, Martin L. Sheffield, Jr., Breyln C. Sheffield, Kamry Sheffield, and Terris Morris. Great -grandchildren, Seige, Brooklynn, and Maleiah Sheffield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Essix & Minnie Sheffield, son Martin L. Sheffield, Sr., great-grandson, and Martin Javon Sheffield.

He leaves a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and very close friends.  The family of Martin G. Sheffield, "Fish", would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for your prayers, thoughts, and contributions during our time of bereavement.
