After returning home, Mark took local college courses in automotive technology and welding training. Mark could build and complete anything he put his mind to. He was truly a jack of all trades whether it was building and putting things together, fixing any and everything, and working on cars and trucks. Mark was a lover of all things outdoors. Hunting and fishing, music, traveling, and spending time with his wife and kids all held a special place in his heart.
In 1988, he met the love of his life Sharlene. By fate, they crossed paths numerous times and they just knew they were destined to be together. They were married in 1991 and brought forth 2 beautiful children together, Oreonna and Adreonna Shepherd. Overall, Mark and Sharlene have spent over 37 years together with 33 of those loving years devoted in marriage. He was a loving husband and father that worked hard to take care of his family and didn’t mind lending a helping hand to others. He will truly be missed by all of his family and friends.
Mark worked in numerous careers throughout his lifetime. He received his CDL’s in the early 2000’s and has been a trucker ever since. His heart was dedicated to over the road trucking and hauling vehicles. He discovered his love of car hauling with Jack Cooper. He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union and has been for many years. In 2022, Mark became an independent contractor. He was owner and operator of his own truck, creating an Indiana state certified business by the name of S1 Transportation. Just recently he switched to local driving with Fox Contractors to be closer to home and spend more time with his loving wife and children.
