Marilyn Glaspie Obituary


Marilyn Patsy Glaspie was born May 23, 1945 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Rev. Thomas Cooper and Lealar Cooper. She spent her childhood in Popular Bluff, Missouri. She moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana 1969 then she later married. Under the guidance and leadership of her parents, Marilyn accepted Christ at an early age. Marilyn loved quiet time watching a good movie. She loved to eat, especially chicken. Marilyn was a home maker. She enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. She had a heart of gold. She very caring and sharing. She was loved by so many. Everyone she met they became family "Lil sister", Mama Marilyn, Mammie Kat, the cool auntie everyone loved to be around. She had all the goodies. She saw no fault in people. She loved them for who they were. Early Saturday morning, January 2, 2021 Marilyn transitioned her life to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons; Jerry "Pudgy"Cooper and Fargo "Martez" Glaspie of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sisters; Shirley Luster of Houston Texas and Gloria (Howard) Gray of Fort Wayne, Indiana, brothers; Evester (Betty) Cooper of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert Lee Cooper, and Lloyd Cooper both of Seattle, Washington, Kent Cooper and Flint Cooper of Fort Wayne, Indiana 35 grandchildren 30 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death, her parents, her husband; John Glaspie, daughter; LaShawn McKinney, brother; Amos Cooper, sister; Queen Cooper, nephew; Stanley Cooper, grandchildren; Martinique Glaspie and Jaquan Gentry.
