Margaret “Bone” (McGraw) Massey departed this life on Monday, June 8, 2026, at her home with family. She was born on December 18, 1948, in Pell City, Alabama, to the late William and Sally McGraw. In 1969, she moved from Alabama to Indiana, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
Margaret was a faithful member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late James and Dorothy Fincher. There, she faithfully served in the Gospel Chorus, leading songs and directing the choir.
Throughout her life, Margaret was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to serving others. She worked at various places, including Mama’s Place, Three Points, Wal-Mart, and Swiss Cleaners. She touched many lives through her kindness, compassion, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Margaret leaves to cherish her precious memory her children, Kimberly McGraw and Jerome McGraw; her sisters, Beckie Fomby and Sherlon McGraw; her grandchildren Frank (Heather) Dinius, Justin (Devan) McGraw, Starla (Desmond) Gary, Miriah (Dustin) Ferguson, Portray, Selena, Titus, Takeyah, Skylar, Suraya, Sabria, Jasmine, Isaiah, Isha, and Ilena; her great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Frank McGraw and Marvin McGraw; her husband, Willie James “Tractor” Massey; her grandson Contrell McGraw; her parents, William and Sally McGraw; her sisters, Odessa Oldham, Gracie Threatt, Zola Maae Barnes, and Mary Lawrence; and her brothers, Willie McGraw, Delbert McGraw, Oliver McGraw, and Richard McGraw.
Margaret’s love, faith, strength, and beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she has departed from this earthly life, her legacy will continue through the generations of family and friends she leaves behind.
