Luenette (Wims) Hamilton

Luenette Hamilton, 85, was called home May 26, 2024. Luenette was born to Louella Bellamy and Aton Wilms on April 16, 1939 in Brent, Alabama. Luenette accepted Christ at an early age. She met and married William Hamilton and together they had six children. William preceded her in death in 1995.

In the mid 60’s she moved her young family to Fort Wayne, Indiana. She worked a number of jobs to care for and support her family. Her many positions included working for Troy Laundry and Richmond Brothers clothing store where she was a seamstress. Luenette especially loved cooking, gardening, and taking care of her grandkids. She was a member of True Love Missionary Baptist Church. She attended faithfully.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers, Curley B. , and William, sisters, Mary , Eliza, Jessie Bell, and Dorothy Mae, her sons, William Jr., and Willie Dan, and daughter, Sara Louise.

Luenette leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Mary Hamilton, Ezzie Kelsaw, Willa (Jeff) Thomas, Yvonne Hamilton, and son, Contrall Hamilton, two brothers, Chester Wilms, and Joe Lee Stoudmire, 11 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
