Lizzie Lee Lacey was born on October 17, 1942, in Uniontown, Alabama, to parents Jessie Lee Lacey and Willie Lee Lacey. She attended Robert C. Hatch High School, then met and was married to Johnnie Williams in June 1961. They moved from Alabama to Fort Wayne in 1966, and their marriage lasted 51 years until Johnnie’s death in 2013.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Warsaw Street Baptist Church, Fort Wayne. where she served as an Usher. She also retired from General Electric (GE) Broadway - Fort Wayne, where she worked as a Wire Assembly Operator for over 30 years.
Lizzie loved reading, writing, listening to Elvis Presley and Gospel music, crocheting, sewing, and cooking some of the best food in Fort Wayne. Her specialties that everyone loved were her Fried Chicken, Apple Pie, Peach Cobbler, Candied Sweet Potatoes, and, most of all, her famous 7-Up Pound Cakes.
She is survived by her daughter Sheila, son Shaun (Rosa), son Adrian (Shampree), Uncle Coleman Witherspoon, brother Jack Lacey, nieces Tracey Key, Lisa Lee, and Laconnya Lacey, Kiara Duncan, nephews Thomas Lacey, Fedell White, Joe Lacey Jr., Jamal Riley, Kelvin Milligan, Marcus Wilson and many more nieces and nephews as well. She also had four grandchildren, Myka, Layla, Uriah, and Malia, and one great-grandchild, Ava.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Lee and Willie Lee Lacey, brothers Saul Lacey, James Lacey, and Joe Lacey, a sister Martha Lacey, and husband Johnnie Williams.
