Leonard Dwayne “Wayne” Pernell, 54, received his wings on Friday, July 29, 2022. He was born January 13, 1968, to Corrine (Earl Folks Sr.) Pratcher and Porter (Ola Mae) Pernell, Jr. He graduated from Wayne High School. He was baptized at an early age at Gomez Temple AME Church. Leonard enjoyed Family gatherings, riding his bike with his niece, Earlnesha and is nephew, Treyvean, and friends from one side of Fort Wayne to the other. He was a great machine operator at Wise Business Forms for several years and Sanko Gosei Technologies. Leonard was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and a true friend to many. Pittsburg Steelers was his favorite football team (Steelers Nation)! collard Greens and Tupac Shakur were two of his favorites. Fishing was becoming a new hobby.
Leonard leaves to cherish his memory, his children; L’Kendra Williams, Tristan Pernell, Shayla Hardy, Shomari Hardy, 9 grandchildren; Kendall and Paulina Altamirano, Kordaeis, Sahmara, Kymir, Aniyis, Jyion, Parus, J'Layah, 8 sisters: Patricia Pratcher, Catherine McPalpine, Hattie Pratcher, Alisa Browning, Angie Pernell, Charlene Pernell, Tina (Michael) Pernell-Causey, Sheila Folks, 6 brothers; Calvin Walker, Porter Pernell III, Cornelius (Tamsina) Pernell, Raymond (Tonia) Mosby, Jerry Mosby, and Earl (Cathy) Folks, Jr. and special friend and companion for 30 years, Tonya Hardy.
Leonard was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Porter.
