Lawrence “Larry” Davis Sr. was born February 1, 1954 in Hollis Springs, Mississippi to Autrie and Parthenia Davis. He departed this life at the age of 67 on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at home in Fort Wayne, IN. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
Lawrence confessed his life to God at an early age at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Hollis Springs, MS, he continued to be a faithful man of God until his final days.
Lawrence was a graduate of Northrop High School where he was a member of the basketball team. Upon graduation in 1974, Lawrence attended Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne. He later joined the United States Airforce where he served his country and was honorably discharged.
Lawrence affectionately called “Lonce” by his family was a great man. Lawrence was a hard-working family man and held various positions to support his family before retiring from Conner’s in 2013.
He met and married his soulmate and love of his life, Ramona in 1975 and they shared an unbreakable bond. Together they raised a beautiful family that he adored more than anything in this world.
Surviving are his loving wife of over 46 years, Ramona Davis; his children, Chinita Gordon (Gary Gordon) of Lexington, KY, Gregory Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, Charnetta Johnson, Chinetta Davis (Henry Williams), Lawrence Davis Jr. (Erin Horton) and KeyMarcus Williams of Fort Wayne, IN. Brothers, Autrie Lee Davis, Grover Davis (Marianne), Charlie Davis, and Troy Davis (Denise); Sisters, Hildia Davis, Elsie Davis, and Julia Davis all of Fort Wayne, IN.
Lawrence is also survived by a host a grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy; in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Autrie & Parthenia Davis, brother Earl Davis and six grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Service is Noon Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Kingdom Door Christian Worship, 1004 E Pontiac St, Fort Wayne, IN 46803 with visitation one-hour prior.
