Larry Darnell "Slim" Collins

Larry Darnell Collins was born April 12, 1950, to Irlene and Charlie Collins, Sr. in Bessemer Alabama. He departed from this life on September 21, 2021. 

Larry ”Slim” Collins, was the most calm-spirited person you could ever meet. His humor was very infectious and would draw attention in any crowd. It was a comfort to know that you could drive down Lillie Street any day of the week and witness his smile as he sat on the front porch overseeing the neighborhood. He was EVERYBODY’S Favorite! 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife; Johnnie Mae (Poochie) of Fort Wayne, IN, children; Chris Lovelace and Jermichael Lovelace of Fort Wayne, IN., daughter; Charetta (Dominich) Douglas-Clark of West Point, MS. brothers; Roosevelt (Ethel Mae) Collins and Ronnie Lee Collins, sisters; Deborah Kizer and Carol (Kevin) Prosser of Fort Wayne, IN., twenty-five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his sons, Broderick, Larry, and Jermarlon Lovelace, a granddaughter; Shaneia Causwell, parents; Charlie, Sr. and Irlene Collins, brothers; Charlie, Jr., Jackie, and Cardell Collins, nephews; Prentice Ewing and Roosevelt Collins, Jr., and a niece; Chasity Lucas-Craig.
