L.B. Jones, 72, of Fort Wayne, IN went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born February 17, 1951, in Sandusky, Ohio.
L.B. retired from Indiana Corrections (Senior Parole Officer) after 30 plus years of service. He was the first African American Male Officer in Fort Wayne, IN. L.B. was a gentle giant! He never met a stranger, as he greeted everyone with a smile & waved no matter what. It was contagious because before you knew it you were doing it too and random people would be doing the “Wave & Smile". We would ask him does he know them and he would laugh and say No but I speak to everyone. He had so many great qualities, but he was honest, humble, Giving, and he LOVED his family and friends with all his heart!
He is survived by his wife & best friend Teresa (Caldwell) Jones; three sons, L.B. (Jana) Jr; Aaron; Eric (Shyann) of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Leanel (Megeata) Jones, Sr., of Columbus, OH; sisters, Ella Mae Baker; Bernadine McDowell; Carolyn Henderson; Bobbie (Jackie) Mayne; all of Sandusky, OH; Seven grandchildren & two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Jones; Estella (Jones) Walker; Sister, Martha Graves; Uncle, Rev. Alfred Jones; Aunt, Nellie Weaver; Nephew, Richard Watson; Niece, Alea Jones; Niece, Latara McDowell; Nephew, Brian Watson Jr; Nephew, Timothy Waters; Brother in Love, Michael Henderson and other relatives.
