Kenneth "Kenny" Frierson, II Obituary

Kenneth (Kenny) J. Frierson, II was born on December 3, 1991 in Harrisburg, PA to Evelyn J. and Kenneth J. Frierson. He departed this life on June 19, 2020 at home. He moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1994 where he spent the remainder of his life.  He loved playing and watching sports, particularly football and basketball.  He was an outstanding athlete, getting his start in football with the Metro Youth Sports organization as a Pee-Wee Bulldog in 1999, moving to the Rams for Junior Varsity and Varsity where he remained until he aged out of the program. He went on to play football at both Northwood Middle School and Northrop High School, where he graduated in 2010.

Kenny accepted Christ in his early teens and was baptized by the late Pastor Bennie Williams (Way of Holiness COGIC).  While his life had some significant challenges, Kenny somehow managed a way to make the best of every situation he encountered.  Just prior to the coronavirus pandemic, he had earned his CDL learners permit and was anxious to find a company that would train him so he could provide the best for his two children.  He wanted to be a family man and did an awesome job in the short years he had to spend with his son and daughter.  They loved their dad, and he loved them more.

For those that knew him, they will tell you he was the ‘coolest, laid back dude’ you would ever meet.  He was extremely intelligent and had deep thoughts about life and the universe.  He was light-hearted and loved to laugh, often referred to as a gentle giant or big teddy bear.  He was an avid gamer, having the potential to become a professional, and was making that a career consideration as well.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his mother, Evelyn J. Frierson, father, Kenneth J. Frierson, son, (King) Luke Avi’el Edwards and daughter, Phoenix Sky Marie Ratliff.  Because of our unique family dynamic, Kenny had a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, with a special mention of his long-time brother, Joshwaa Woods.

A Celebration of his Life and balloon release will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 with details to be announced in the immediate future.  Donations may be made to the Kenneth Frierson Memorial Fund at Fort Financial Credit Union (260) 432-1561 or GoFundMe (Kenneth Frierson Memorial Fund).
