Dr. Judy Ann Greene-Whittaker was born Friday, April 20, 1951 and was welcomed back into the Lord’s kingdom on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Judy professed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church
under the leadership of the late Reverend Caldwell. Judy was an active member of True Love Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Jessie White, Redemption Church, led by Pastor Virgil & Pastor Glenda Griffin, Come As You Are Community Church led by Pastor Anthony Payton, Kingdom of Heaven, led by Prophet & Prophetess Malcolm & Sandra Robinson, and Kingdom Door Christian Worship Center under the tutelage of Pastor Harold Johnson where she remained an active & faithful member until her homegoing.
Judy was a graduate of South Side High School, class of 1969, Four Winds Beauty and Cosmetology School, concurrently while attending Kingdom of Heaven University Bible College.
Judy received her Master of Divinity, Doctor of Divinity, Ordained Minister, and Bachelor & Masters of Arts in Theology.
Judy spent her working years at Lincoln National Bank, Flashfold Carton, the late Doctor Wilson’s office, and Stewart Manufacturing until her retirement. Judy was also a certified aerobics instructor at the Old Fort YWCA.
Judy's calling, hobbies, and interest were taking delight in volunteering her time to church activities, visiting, and attending to the needs of the sick and shut in. She would provide spiritual service to anyone in need; and to whomever was seeking help, Judy was there.
She enjoyed listening to gospel and jazz music; solving crossword and sudoku puzzles; calligraphy,
shorthand and sign language. She enjoyed designing and creating unique dolls; each doll had it's own individualized stylish outfit. She loved physical activities like baseball, bowling, volleyball, softball, and fishing. Most of all she loved spending time with friends, family, and especially her grandchildren.
Judy was preceded by death by her parents, Emma Lois Greene and Walter James Greene, three sisters, Annie Louise Greene, Walter Mae Jackson, and Sharon Sue Greene, two brothers, Bobby Bruce Greene and Gregory Alan Greene, sister-in-law, Linda Greene, and nephew, Jason Edward Greene.
