John Brown

John Lee Brown, 69, of Fort Wayne, IN, transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

John was born on October 27, 1956, in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Joe S. Brown Sr. and Dorothy L. Brown. He had a significant other, Margaret Martin.

He graduated from Elmhurst High School and went on to have a 50-year career at Parkview Memorial Hospital.  

John was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love of the Lord and Savior, gospel music, basketball, billiards, barbecuing, and traveling.

He is survived by his children, Contrell Curry, Cassandra Curry, Cameron Curry, Camisha Hardy (Jonathan), Ronald Odom (Whitney), Jonathan Maydwell, Roshawn Holley-Elcock, and special son DeMarien Smith, Sisters, Barbara Brown, Dorothy Brown Curry, brothers, Eddie Jackson, Joe (Pam) Brown Jr., Jerry Brown, Robert Brown, Ricky Brown, and special brother Tyrone Woods, along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dorothy Brown; his brother, Douglas Rutledge; and his grandson, Khyreh Ghani.
