Joe Wallace Dance was born in Humboldt, Tennessee on March 26, 1939, to Georgia Lee and Zebedee Dance. He departed this life on December 19, 2021, at Parkview Randallia Hospital.
“Papa” as he was affectionately known as, had a love for fishing, hunting, cars, and clothes. He loved to dress up. He loved to travel. Every summer he would take a road trip. Papa was a “Jack of All Trades.” He was the go to person of the family.
He was known by many names such as “Fat,” “Big Daddy,” and many more. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Helen Dance. Together they raised seven children. His sons, Michael (Gloria Jean) Wells, Danny (Sonya), Timothy (Nanette) Wells, Joe Wallace Dance, Jr., Bryson Mathews, Darrell Reynolds, and David Reynolds, daughters, Stephania Ann Wespon, Helen Rochelle Dance, and Danee' Mathews, brother, Wayne Dance, sisters, Dorothy Dance, Clara Coleman, Jean Dance, Rachel Sims, Rena Dance, and Shirley Dance, best friend; Jerry McCurrie, along with several nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Papa was preceded in death by his parents, Zebedee and Georgia L. Dance, one son, Mark Dance, brothers, Charles Dance, Henry Dance, James Dance, and Raymond Dance, sisters; Fannie Harrison, Lola McCurry, Joyce Dance, and Patricia Dance.
