James Dotson Obituary

James Lee Dotson, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, after a long and full life. Born on March 21, 1941, in Uniontown, Alabama, James was the son of Ethel Lee Dotson, who passed away during childbirth.  Growing up in Uniontown, he was raised by his grandfather, Harvey Dotson, and grandmother, Leitha Dotson, with the help of his aunt, Maebella Williams.  In 1970, James moved to Fort Wayne.  Throughout his adult life, he worked for National Serv-all and Fort Wayne Foundry, retiring from Fort Wayne Foundry.  Beyond his career, he was a member of King’s Chapel Assembly in Fort Wayne.  To know James was to know someone who genuinely loved life. His passions were family, friends, hunting, fishing, and watching western TV shows.  He loved the Lord.  His favorite quote was “Glory to the Lamb!”  He also loved talking on the phone with his niece, Rosetta Williams, several times each week. James’ greatest joy, however, was his beautiful marriage to his wife, Irene C. Dotson.  James was preceded in death by his wife, Irene C. Dotson, and a daughter, Bernadine (from Cocoa Beach, FL).  He is survived by his sons, Andre Lymon, Robert Lymon, Terry Lymon, Lee (from Boston, MA), James (from Cocoa Beach, FL), and Cornelius (from Fort Wayne, IN); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
