Hattie Norfleet Obituary

Hattie Norfleet was born August 24, 1937, in Uniontown, AL to the late Elbert and Hattie Starks. She departed this life at the age of 85 peacefully at home with family by her side.

She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Uniontown, AL, and continued her faith journey while commuting to Chicago and then Fort Wayne, IN where she joined Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Samuel Walker. She married William Norfleet and together they joined Lighthouse Deliverance Cathedral under the leadership of Willie Bolden. Hattie worked and retired as a cook from Lutheran Hospital, where she took great pride in her job. She taught us, the only way you will ever have anything in life is if you work hard for it.

Hattie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband William Norfleet, two children, Willie “Bodee” Anderson, and Doris (John) Williams, both of Fort Wayne, IN, three stepchildren, William Mark Norfleet of Phoenix, AZ, Pricilla Norfleet and Melanie (Aaron) Harvey, of Fort Wayne, IN, 11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Elbert (Brenda) Starks of Huntsville, AL, one sister, Scottie Starks of Kansas City, KS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives & friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Hattie Starks, four beautiful daughters, Kimberly Anderson, Linda Petrie, Janice Maston, and Judith Boyd; sisters Savannah Jordan, Bernice Dupree, Annie Mae Kinnie, Thelma Williams, Earnestine McGraw, and Della Jackson, brother Herman Starks, two grandsons, Tyland Vaughn, and Kendrick Boyd, Jr. and her late husband Willie Anderson, Sr
