Gernard Rydell Payton

Gernard Rydell Payton was born to the late Samuel and Frances Payton on October 30, 1963 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He departed this earthly life peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Grace Temple Church of God under the pastorate of Reverend James Hall.

 He attended Paul Harding High School and completed an Associates Degree from Indiana Tech in Criminal Justice. He took pride in successfully completing college and this was one of his proudest accomplishments. He was employed for a short time at Stratosphere Quality in Roanoke, Indiana.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his granddaughter “Hazel Bazel.” 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Anita Payton, daughter A’Oreal Payton, granddaughters Hazel Payton, Aaliyah Riley, and Ayanna Riley and grandson Wayde Fowlkes, Aunts, Estelle Turner, and Mary Crowley all of Fort Wayne, Indiana and a host of other relatives and friends.
