Rev. Evelyn VanZant was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 26, 1935, to Kenneth VanZant and Emma Lee Young. She was the sixth out of six children
Evelyn was known to most as Granny to all who loved her. She went to school in Chicago. Evelyn was loved on her job. She was a very hard-working, dependable, and punctual worker. She worked in insurance but retired from Zoo Atlanta.
Evelyn had a passion for drawing and music in her younger years. She loved sports and playing with her grandchildren.
Rev. Evelyn VanZant made her transition on April 28, 2026, at the home of Abby and Molly, her adopted granddaughters and caregivers. Her daughter Pamela and granddaughter Ayesha were at her bedside.
She leaves to mourn her two daughters, Patricia VanZant and Pamela VanZant Ward, eight grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. Evelyn will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
