Dominik Alaijuon Files was born on January 12, 1990 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Kimberly D. Jackson. Nik accepted Christ at the age of 7 being baptized at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church here in Fort Wayne by his late great grandfather, Reverend Calvin Howell. He was a member of the children’s choir and participated in many plays and programs during holiday seasons.
Nik graduated high school in 2008, and also attended Ivy Tech Community College for a short time. His first job was in dietary at Lutheran Life Villages and his last, which is where he was currently employed, was Paragon Tube Corporation.
Nik was a fun spirited, comedic, good hearted young man. Always wearing a smile and trying to put one on everybody elses face. His hobbies included: listening to music (which he got from his mom), recording music in the studio, model cars, and sports. He played Jr. High and High school basketball and y-ball, Metro football for the Rams, and several seasons of t-ball. Nik was also very family oriented as all of us Howells are with his last birthday dinner request being a simple dinner with our entire family at Tammy’s.
Dominik leaves to cherish his memory: his mother (and number 1 fan)- Kim Jackson, fathers- Tracy L Jackson and Aaron L Montgomery; daughter and love of his life (who he referred to as Twin)- Nalaya Dashea Brikaelle Files; grandmothers- Maxine Files, Delois Jackson; grandfather- Green Davis, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; 2 sisters- Kayla TraShaun Jackson and Umekia Dashea (Willie) Ivy; 5 brothers- Aaron L Montgomery, Jr, Tracy L Jackson, Jr, Traneilous L Jackson, Trameil L Jackson, and Amarion Moore; nieces-Ka’Layah (LuLu), Ka’Lei (Kals), Kynnedi (fatty), and Brielle Jackson, Armani Link, and Asia Ivy; nephews- Javin Kizer, and Terriyous & Trameil Jackson; aunts- Ernestine (Clark) Hamilton, Nancy Smiley, Arlinda Simmons, Stacy Files, Tamara Files, Towanna Jackson, Yteria (Marshal) Phillips; uncles- Damon Files, Argentry Montgomery, Steve Jackson, Shawn (Yolanda) Williams, Curtis (Deandra) Johnson, and Kinnard Simmons; best friend- JaMarcus Perry; and a host of many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: great grandparents-Reverend and Mrs. Calvin Howell, Sr., Aunt Jean & Uncle Calvin, grandmother- Cassandra Montgomery, and best friends- Jason Kizer and Jordan McPherson.
