Some people pass through this life and leave memories. Others leave a legacy of love so deeply woven into the lives of others that their presence can never truly be erased.
Diane L. Young was that kind of woman.
Born on October 14, 1953, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Willie L. Thompson and Eugene Wright, Diane lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and an extraordinary love for people.
She was educated in Fort Wayne Community Schools and proudly graduated from Snider High School in June 1973. As she stepped into adulthood, God was already writing one of the greatest love stories of her life.
Diane met the love of her life, Elige Young Jr In 1974, Diane and Elige joined their lives together in marriage. 52 years as husband and wife, but 55 beautiful years together; they were blessed with their only biological daughter, Shantel Nanette Young, on November 25, 1973, whom they loved dearly. Shantel preceded her in death on August 24, 2003. She faithfully served and volunteered at Jerusalem Baptist Church for over 30 yrs. That same heart for serving others was evident throughout her professional life. Diane dedicated 40 years to Avon and 21 years of service to Lutheran Life Villages before retiring.
