Diane (Jemison) Thomas

Diane Thomas (Jemison) was born on June 11, 1965 in Marion, Alabama to Charles and Queen Jemison. Diane gained her wings on December 30, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.

In 1966 Diane and her family journeyed to Fort Wayne, IN. At the age of 5 Diane accepted Christ at Friendship Baptist Church where she sang in the sunshine band and was involved in BTU (Sunday school class). Church was one of many pleasures Diane enjoyed.

Diane attended Snider High School where she graduated at the top of her class in 1984. She enjoyed running track, participating in fashion class, but singing was her passion.

Diane also loved to travel and trying new things. She loved living life to the fullest with her 2 best friends Barbara and Tonya-her honorary sisters. In 2008, Diane met her soulmate, Darrell Thomas. Shortly after the two married in February 2009. Diane loved being a wife and mother, but especially loved being a grandmother. Her grandchildren were her world.

Diane was preceded in death by her son (JeQuan S. Alexander) and grandparents Rufus and Daisy Jones; Edmond and Rosie Jemison.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her parents Charles (Queen) Jemison; brother Charles Jemison, Jr., sister; Patricia Jemison, her husband; Darrell Thomas, daughters; Alicia Jemison and Kirsten Brazier, son; Byron Alexander. She also leaves her grandchildren; Brandon, Jaiden, Jurnee, Cassidy, Dalyah, and Eva; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews  and other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
