Daryl Javon "Vonnie" Williams

Daryl Javon “Vonnie” Williams was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 27, 1968. Vonnie departed this life at his home on March 29, 2020.

To know Vonnie is to love him. From a young boy he had a strong love for sports. Vonnie attended Northrop High School. Where he excelled in football, basketball, and track and field. After high school he attended Illinois State University, where he was a member of the school’s football team. Vonnie was a devoted father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and always made himself available for family. Vonnie was preceded in death by his mother Mattie Turner-Williams, his father; Fern Williams, Sr., paternal grandparents; Laney D. Williams, Sr. and Susie Pitts-Williams, and grandson,; Aaren Owens. Vonnie leaves to cherish his memory two brothers; Fern Williams, Jr., and Andre Lamont Williams, two sisters; Daphne (Martin ) Williams Jackson and Rebecca Schwartz, two sons; Brandi Gray and David Owens, two daughters; Mattie Faye Williams and Kathryn Hart, seven granddaughters; DeMiya Squires, Mariya Squires, Aliyah Asher, Aria Owens, Aliviyah Gray, Taelyn Gray, Amore Ferrell, two grandsons; Damion Owens, Bryian Gray and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends and relatives. 

A memorial service for Vonnie will be scheduled at a later date.
